Late 80's early 90's horror flick probably b rated?

I can't remember much but this couple was getting it on in this movie and the spirit or whatever spilled some liquid on a lamp cord and the guy grabs the cord and both him and the girl who was on top of him were electricuted. And I also think one of the characters who survived was a descendant of the spirit. UGH someone please help
