Late ovulation..is this normal?

I have been TTC for 3 months now. I went off the pill in December 2007. In January I bought an ovulation prediction kit and got a positive result on CD 16, and my period came about 11 days aftewards. I tried the saliva based test in Feb. to save money, but never got a positive result. My period came right on time (my cycle seems to be 27days). This month I used the urine tests again, and again got a positive reult on CD 16 (Although all the charting I have done says it should be 3-4days earlier). The average luetual phase is supposed to be around 14 days, but mine seems to be only 10 at the most. My period have been very regular since I have been off the pill, coming on the day they are supposed to or one day earlier in one case. Is it normal to ovulate so late in my cycle or are these kits off?

Yes, this is normal for some. I don't ovulate until around day 20 and then only have an 8 day luteal phase. (It seems that may of us that were on birth control have this problem.) I use both OPKs and charting and find them both to be right on for ovulation time.

B6 and progesterone creams are options but be careful. I tried these and they really messed with my cycles and cause a lot of spotting and unnecessary stress. My doctor says that 10 days is fine and there is only a concern if they are shorter than that.
