Late period 4 days, confirmed pregnancy - health issues. options?
Hello - morality issues aside, this is a health question: my sister and her husband have been trying to have a baby for some time now. they got pregnant in December and unfortunately miscarried (blighted ovum) - The doctor specifically told them she needed to undergo treatment before getting pregnant again. specifically they analyzed her blood and it came out anemic. she's been following a strict food regime with lots of protein, and a balanced diet and is doing better. - the doctor told her they should not get pregnant for at least 3 months. - she just called me and said she's worried for the baby she doesn't want to live through that again. she's 4 days late. - In Mexico it is legal (although morally objectionable) to have an abortion. Question here is, for a 3 week old conception, would it be necessary? or what steps would she take to avoid another D&C (which she doesn't want to do)?
The doctor said due to her weak state of health, the risk for teratogenesis is high.
