Late period and cramps?

so my period is 2-4 days late and im usually on time for my period. being pregnant is not a possibility since i am not sexually active. im getting cramps though. i've had my period for approximately 4 years and i was usually on time. im not really stressed except the fact that i havent had my period yet is a bit stressing but im pretty much a happy person.... idk what else it could be.

question 1) why have i not had my period yet?

question 2) why would i be getting cramps if im not on my period yet?

If you havent been sexually active, then you have nothing to worry about. Periods are not an exact science, so wont show right on time and day every single time.

The cramps could be a sign of it coming, or (believe it or not) it could be constipation.

As long as you dont have a foul discharge that smells 'fish' like, clotting when you do get your period (anything larger than the size of a nickle isnt okay), you arent having a burning sensation when you urinate, you are 'itchy' down there, or you dont see thick cottage cheese like discharge... you are fine. If you do have one of more of those symptoms, see your doc right away.

I occasionally have an issue with this when my previous period was really light and then the next one causes really bad cramps and is a couple days late and when it comes it is terrible. Being sick, active in sports or (for me anyway) moving heavy furniture can also cause this too.

And the fact that your stressed because you haven't gotten it, is enough to cause stress to not get it. Its a vicious circle.
