I applied for F1 Visa at American Embassdy in Damascus for Master at Detroit Mercy, and Last day i have to be in the university is 8Jan 2008 , Till now at 3Jan i didn't get any answer from the embassy ..

Do you think i can still get the visa before 8th, and if not what will happened , are they gonna sdtamped the visa even it's late? or what should i do ??

Well, there's no way for anyone on Yahoo to know if you'll get your visa before January 8th. Inshallah, is about all anyone can say. If they can't issue a visa in time for you to attend your class, then they won't issue it. You would have to contact your school and let them know what happened, of course. Most schools would be willing to delay your entry for a term. You would need a new I-20 showing your new reporting date and the school would also need to update your SEVIS registration. At least you wouldn't be charged a new visa fee.

usually the consular services has the date of your start on file,they do their most possible to try to meet your date, if all went well in your application? finances? police report etc. you shoud get your visa on time, worry not, unless you really waited until the last minute to apply?
