Hi guys, please help me. I've been working at a small hedge fund for one year now and my boss has been anything but nice to me. He's always late with my check and never lets me know when to expect it. There's no health benefit, or vacation or any days off paid for and i didn't get any bonus (he claimed my four days from work paid was my bonus). My problem now is i'm always trying to be nice to him and everyone. But lately i just couldn't stand the way he insults me by telling me something is wrong with my brain if i don't understand him..

I finally have to opportunity to open my own skin care business and i'm starting on friday of this week. But here's the question, i haven't told him i'm leaving. So hearing the story how should i tell him i'm leaving?

I didn't want to give him two weeks notice since i'm sure we would fire me right there and then.

Please help me with what to say..

Write a letter, say in it that you have really appreciated the opportunity to work for him, and that you have been offered a new job opportunity closer to what your trained for, or is closer to your career objective, and that you will benefit from the experience and cant turn it down. Make sure to send your regrets about the short notice, but that it came up suddenly. Make sure to thank him for his understanding, and that you wish him the best.
