My period has been a week late each month.. whats wrong?

I haven't had sex in about 5 or 6 months, and I've had my period each month. I get severe pain in my left pelvic area.. Each month when i'm supposed to get my period, I don't get it, and its usually always a week or 9 days late. I haven't been stressing at all. Could my periods be irregular since I'm still young? Could my pelvic pain be something serious? Because I want kids in the future, and I don't want that pain to mean something bad..

How long have you had your period? It is perfectly normal for your period to be irregular after 2 years...and lots of women have irregular periods their whole life which is normal for them. Most women get cramps and some have really bad ones...try a heating pad. Bad cramps are normal but if you keep having them for a long time, go to a doctor's since it's better safe then sorry! Stress will do that, as well if u've not had r period for 2 yrs u r not on a normal cycle yet. lol
