Period 3 days late and negative HPT; pregnant or not?

Hi,

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant and i am 3 days late (was due monday & it is now thursday) and the HPT came up negative. I don't have any typical signs that everyone says they get like having to pee all the time or sore breasts; I feel pretty normal since i am not sure what i should be expecting anyway. I do feel like my period is coming; it's not cramping like you get when you have your period much more different and lighter than that. I keep running to the bathroom with tampon in hand thinking it's aunt flo but nothing.

Anyone have any recommendations? Should I give it a full week of missing it and then call the doctor? I am usually every 4 weeks from period to period so this is not normal for me. Has anyone else had this experience before?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Your anxiety is probably causing you to be a little late. You need to breathe. Don't jump the gun and get all disappointed if you aren't. My wife is really influenced by stress and emotions..you should know that too.
