Period 7 weeks late, then got it...what could this mean?

So, I've been on progestin only BC, but was 7 weeks late on getting my period, so 2 days ago, I decided to stop taking my BC, in hopes that period would start up. Just this morning, I started getting some brown/black blood. Nothing real heavy, but I have a few questions...

If I was pregnant, would it still start up and look like this? Could it just be my period starting itself up again? or something else?

I had a UTI when my period was due, and I've been extremely stressed the last 3 months or so, with my periods the last 6 have being somewhat irregular. I've always used condoms, except for one time, when I was already 3 weeks late. I'm just looking for opinions as to what my period might mean. Regular period? Pregnant? Ectopic? Miscarriage?

I'm planning a Dr's appt. for Tuesday, but any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

It's just old blood!!! it's been up there for a while so it's just getting on track again!!! RELAX!!!|||I really dont know, Good job on going to the doctor. A friend of mine missed her periods because she was way underweight..?|||Any reason you haven't taken a pregnancy test just to cross this option out?|||it probably could just be stress hun :D

& yes going to a doctor is probably the best.

if you are not pregnant then, whatever! i think its pretty much normal. My period was 4 months late! & i was not pregnant or anything.
