Question about getting a second bachelor's degree?
I'm currently finishing up my junior year, getting a B.A. in Communications.
If I could do it all over again, I would've done a double major and studied Psychology as well. But obviously, it's too late for that.
My question is, since when I'm done next year--I will have completed all the required Core classes, if I go back and try to get a second bachelor's in Psych, will I have to retake all those Core classes, or can I just jump right into the psych courses?
Question about getting a second bachelor's degree?opera ticketIt depends if the psychology department requires different core courses than the communications department. Chances are there will be a lot of overlap, so you may only have to add a few more courses to make up the difference, if any even exists. If both degrees are at the same school, then everything is already on file and you won't have to retake anything you already passed. If the second degree is at a different school, they may have different core requirements, but at least some of your classes from the first school should transfer and fulfill a large chunk of the new core requirements.

Go for a dual degree rather than a double major.
With a dual degree, you will still take the requirements for your second degree but it will be less hours than if you were to do a double major.|||Core as in lower division GE's? You wouldn't have to take those again, but you'd have to take lower division psychology courses before you could get into the upper division courses. This is assuming your school works as mine does.
