Earlier, I was told by the boss of my former job that my co-worker, who's been working for less than a month, was getting promoted to the mgr position in Jan 2007. I was employed there since Jul 2004. I didn't bring the matter to his attention since I felt that it could've been it. I've been looking around sporadically for another job, since I felt that I was going to be fired in the weeks to come. That was strengthened weeks before I was fired yesterday whenever I noticed that I haven't been put on the schedule during the 1st week of Jan 2007. Ever since the promo, the morality that I've demonstrated for the company in the past has deteriorated, and I would come in later than usual or not do the usual tasks that I would normally do. Luckily, I never flipped out on anyone, including my boss, but I was fired for coming in a 1/2 hr late. I know I screwed up but I'm worried about what could really happen, since I'm paying for my car. I've been applying for jobs all day. Any other advice?

There are always temp jobs/day labor out there. In clerical, and labor/contruction. Telemarketing jobs usually hire pretty quick even withing a few days. Even try a hotel to clean rooms or bell hop. They may be degrating, but they got me by till I was able to find a perm. job! I had even donated Plasma (not blood) to get me by. Your current occupation wasn't listed, so can not help you in that field.
