Hey guys,

I work overnights at a local Wal-Mart as a stocker. I ususally get a 30 minute lunch, during which I go home and see my pregnant girlfriend and eat some quick lunch. Im usually about 1-4-minutes late coming back to work, but NEVER more than that. Anyways, I was 4 minutes late last night and when I tride to walk in the buidling - Locked out! I tried every door and 30 minutes later, freezing in the 10 degree weather, I find an open door. The manager tells me "You need to stop being late from lunch." Fine, Im cool with that, but tell me first! Up until this, I had no problems with it and have been doing it for months without anyone saying a word to me. I feel like him locking me out was incredibly immature and unprofessional, ESPECIALLY for being only 4 minutes late. The other ting that bothers me too, is if I hadnt found an open door, I wouldve had to go home and possilby lose my job. Am I wrong here? Help me out guys? And if Im right, and he did do me wrong, what should I do?

Check the employee handbook if you have one or find out how to get in touch with your HR department. They have to have a policy on your situation. Find out what it is. That is the only way to figure out who is right and who is wrong.
