I am 12 years old and I want to learn to dance but I am nervous that I would make a fool of myself having never done any dance before. ok here is my dilemma I am completely passionate about dance and DESPERATLY want to learn Ballet Jazz and Tap but my mom will not sign me up for lessons because she say's "it's too late and if i started now i would be put in a class with kids less than 1/3 my size" so I want to learn how to dance good enough to get into a class my age but HOW? I plan to get so of my school friends togather and mabie join a class but I can't work up the neerve to ask

You are never too late to learn. Call different dance studios and ask if they have an older beginner class- or can do private lessons. It you start YOU ABSOLUTELY have to practice everyday to get up to speed. I would start with one style (ballet) and go from there. To get a head start find a beginners video from the public library - learn the 6 basic positions.
