When is it to late to get a cat declawed?
I just got a cat that is a year and a half old. I was wondering if it is to late to get her declawed? The scratching isnt really the problem. She bullies my dog a little and im afraid shes going to hurt the dog. The dog wont fight back thats why im so worried. The dog is just a little bigger than the cat so. If anyone cold help me i'de apreciate it.
When is it to late to get a cat declawed?sunshineDon't ever do it. Declawing is a mutilation of the cat's paw and holds no benefits whatsoever for the cat. It is a convenience to pet owners who are too lazy to train their cat or who care more about their stuff than the well being of their cat. Your cat won't hurt your dog. They will adapt to each other and probably become friends in time. I have put a link to a great website about declawing you should read. I hope you decide not to do it. I have seen countless cats left in rescues by owners who couldn't deal with the aftermath of declaw. Cats become biters and refuse to use the litter box because it hurts their paws. Declawed cats in disaster situations have no defense and are just as good as dead if a tornado or hurricane tosses them from their home. Rethink it please.
