Windows xp getting corrupted repeatedly?
I work with a 4 year old Pentium 266 MHz assembled computer with windows xp as OS. It had been running smoothly for past 3 years but of late windows has been getting corrupted repeatedly. While working, machine suddenly reboots of its own. After 2-3 such rebooting, windows fails to start and machine gives some message. Last time the message was ""Load needed DLLs for HAL". Earlier, message used to be different, like "Windows could not boot due to a fatal error. You can try to repair the error by inserting Windows disk" etc. Why is windows getting corrupted repeatedly and what is the meaning of latest message?

i got the driver lost by putting in recovery and exploring , foulnd hal put it back on, could be somethings mine in the shop,|||The Hal.dll file is a main loading file for Windows XP. Without it the OS won't load. You can repair this yourself, there are a few steps involved, but it's not particularly hard. I have attached a link for that.
