Why do Christians like to be late?

In our church, people like to be late. In the beginning, they would start worship service late because the people who came early or on time would have to wait for people who were still on their way in or haven't come into the sanctuary.

And they treat it like it's normal to be late.

But if it was school, they wouldn't be too happy about you being late.

And at work, my boss would definitely think it is okay to come late whenever I felt like it.

But church, we can come late and nobody cares because everybody is doing it. Sometimes they even think it is funny.

But I find that having it being okay to be late makes me feel less focused and less organized in my thoughts. I can't concentrate when things seems to be out of order.

I've tried to get to used to the idea that it is okay to be late for church but I really hate to be late so now I don't even bother to go anymore.

I seriously don't know why some people HAVE to be late. It's not like they don't know what time service starts. Hey - here's a thought ... GET UP EARLIER!!! It's crazy, I know ... but it's really damn distracting to those of us who bother to show up on time. I know a woman in the 8:30 service who is a single mother of 5 kids and she still manages to get there on time yet the people with 2 ***** and moan about how it's just SOOOO hard.
