Could I be getting a false negative?

I stopped taking birth control pills a month ago so my husband and I could try and have a baby. My period is over a week late but when I take a home pregnancy test it comes back negative. Even though I stopped taking the bcp when I did could they be causing my period to be this late or could I possibly be getting a false negative on the test?

Well, after you stop taking bc your period will be out of wack for a while. But it can be possible to get a false negative. Wait another week to take a 2nd test. And remember there are no false positives. So if you get one of those congrats you are preggo. Good luck

Your system will not be back to normal for awhile. The delay cause by the pill. However, you might actually pregnant but your HCG level is still low thats why your pregnancy test is negative. check again after 3 days or else your period should come at the end.
