Satellite/Wireless speakers, does the conveniece sacrifice the quality?
I'm trying to make the best possible home theater I can get within my budget limits. Of course I'm looking at quality first, style second. Considering the size of the room I'm working with, I was reading on satellite/wireless speakers and thought to myself "no wires showing would be great, and less of a hassle for me". My original plan is to have the speakers next to the TV (set A lets call them) to be wired to the home theater receiver and the 2 satellite speakers to be wireless (set B). Would there be a noticeable latency for the satellite speakers receiving as signal? For example, will I hear a scream on set A and 2 seconds later hear the same scream on set B? Going with latency, let's assume DVDs don't have a latency, but what about videogame consoles? I am planning to hook up the systems as well, but will since these days consoles have multiple sounds coming from multiple directions at once, I wasn't sure if the wireless speakers router could handle it.
Satellite/Wireless speakers, does the conveniece sacrifice the quality?chicago theaterThere are two types of wireless satellite speakers, Infra-Red or FM.
The Infra-Red is better for sound reproduction but they are Line-Of-Sight only. This means, if someone walks across the room and blocks the beam, you will temporarily lose your rear channel.
