We bought a supposedly great set of speakers but we don't know how to connect them!?
We bought a TV, a DVD player, and speakers--all of them separately. So we don't really have a pre-packaged home theater system.
We are having trouble connecting our speakers to any appliance because we've been told by Best Buy that we need to buy a receiver. I don't know if I need a receiver because the speaker customer service told us we didn't really need one.
They are the Jensen JHT525 5.1 Home Theater Speaker System and come with a subwoofer and 5 speakers.
Appreciate any answers.

The TV should have an audio out and so you could connect at least two speakers to it, a left and a right. If it's an advanced TV, then perhaps it has a more complex audio out. I suggest you have a look at your TV's manual.|||you need the receiver to process the sound signals before sending them to your speakers.
sorry you need one more component, I suggest Sony
