How do i get a credit company to remove a late payment?

how do i go about getting a late payment off my report? i have one late payment last november but the rest of my history is good. my balance for that specific account is zero. do i just call them and try to sweet talk them? and if i do call them will they have to make an inquiry on my credit to see if they will remove it? thank you!

Since the late payment happened a year ago, it is unlikely that the credit card company will remove it, or be able to remove it from your credit reports. However, that one late payment is unlikely to really affect your credit score very much, if your credit accounts are in good standing and you have a good income to debt ratio. It can't hurt to try calling and asking them to consider removing the charge. It might be annoying, but not painful.

If they say they will just waive half of it ask for a superviser.
