Why is my period almost 3 weeks late?

I know for a fact that I am not pregnant, due to the obvious fact that I am a virgin to begin with. When I first started when i was younger, I only had my period once every 2 months, then it started getting on a normal 28 day cycle, why is it almost 3 weeks late now? Any advice/ suggestions?
