A career in singing???
Is there any future in opera singing? I want to be an opera singer when I'm older. And have been told I have the voice. I love it, and have done some gigs and really want to pursue opera... I have a voice teacher, last year I did my grade 6 voice exam. Could any opera singers give me a word of advice? Or non opera singers tell me if they think this is a reasonable goal??? Sometimes I feel embarrassed to tell people, like my friends, because they think it's weird and bizaare... I'm not singing opera because I love listening it only, I have a pretty good voice I've been told and sound the best when I sing opera. By the way I'm 13.
??? Any ideas?

A career in singing???performing art centeryes, there is a future. however, i won't lie to you, it is a career choice that is made by many, but there are few who will actually make money at it.
it is a choice of passion. you have to live it and love it. and in exchange for the fantastic euphoria of singing, there are many sacrifices to be made along the way.
don't worry about your friends thinking it's weird or bizarre. i didn't really tell anyone i was training to become an opera singer until i was finished my performance degree. i told them i was studying music because i loved it, and if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life.
