What would be the best way for?

So, I can write lyrics. I'm getting better. I take voice lessons, and even though I'm no opera singer, even my teacher has admitted I have talent. Even though I'm learning, I suck at composition. If I wanted to make it as a someone who worked in musicals, or even in a band, how can a 16 year old begin to prepare or plan for this? Like, how could I find a place to show my work and find people with the same dreams as me someday?

Believe in yourself number 1! then practice, practice, practice...compose anyway even if you think it sucks now eventually you'll come up with somethin good...look around school, newspapers, performing art centers for auditions and try out, the more you perform in front of people the more comfortable you'll feel. Break a leg!

american idol try outs....

you could look for talent show in your area,

or a band that needs a vocalist....

or if u learned guitar you could play and sing at the same time!
