How long after you meet her parents should you ask for her hand in marriage?

OK.... the soap opera which is my life... here goes...

i met my girlfriend last year.

she was married but had been seperated for almost 2 years just not final due to rediculous sc divorce laws. i knew that going in.

we were bf/gf a month or two later.

the whole time she was trying to get things finalized as she was even before i met her.

that should hopefully be final by the end of this month.. they are awaiting the final court date.

given the situation her parents do know i exist (wouldnt go over well)

problem is we have become VERY serious and are talking marriage

have looked at rings etc

however i cant really ask her in a few months with her parents thinking i just started dating her as the divorce was just finalized a few months before

can I?

what is the best way to handle this situation and get us where i want us as soon as possible.

im in love with this woman, she is in love with me and i hate this stupid stuff is inthe way.

PS. she was married for a total of 6 days

Hon, my heart goes out to you, but here's my take on this:

If she's worth marrying, then she's worth waiting for. If you want to spend the rest of your life with this woman, what's another month/several months/year of waiting for things to stabilize a little bit? You should DEFINITELY wait until everything is final with her divorce before taking even one step toward marriage!
