How much, typically, does it cost distributors to show a movie in theatres?

First of all it depends on the film, How new is it? Who are the distributors? How many theateres is it showing in, regionally or nationally. With that said, it usually cost most movie theatres around $2,500.00 to show each picture, given the cost of showing the film (labor, rent, utilities, and other such costs) and rights and royalties when they first come out. Large production films with lots of hype, but limited showings, or highly anticpated films may cost as much as $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 for the theatre to host due to the higher prices for release.
