How to express a stress strain calculation in terms of a differential equation?
I am finding the change in length of a fibrous tissue (ie the plantar fascia of the foot) when under a given tensional load.
I am assuming the PF to be a tapering shape which I will assume to be conical. The load is 168N the the length of PF is 170mm the the cross sectional area is from 24mm sqr to 2mm sqr and has a uniform taper. The Youngs modulus is 585MPa and the Poisson Ratio is 0.4. I am at this point using the nominal 170mm length as a constant and not an added variable. I have produced a graph using MS Excell by using intervals in CSA of 0.1 which = 2200 intervals and factored in all the variables. However I do not know how to express this as a differential equation. Can you help please?
