How to live in Napa Valley on a dishwasher salary?

I'm stress out from living in a busy city and want to moved out into the Napa Valley. What's the most affordable place to rent there? What's the salary of a new dishwasher there? Where do dishwasher in Napa Valley live? Thanks.

You can rent a room in a house or a mother-in-law cottage, or studio for $600-$850 a month. That's in Napa proper, the further north you go upvalley the more expensive it gets.

There have been a couple dishwasher/prep cook jobs in the paper lately. They pay about $7 an hour depending on the place. My last cooking job that was offered (not dishwasher) was $8 an hour. Anything you can possibly find over $12 is golden in this industry, even with experience. Office jobs start out at $12.

But it's an easy city to live in, just have a car and be willing to travel a bit for a job. St. Helena and Calistoga are hiring all the time for restaurant help.
