I don't know about the software, but a lot (if not most) electronic keyboards (Casio, Yamaha etc.) have a feature that shows you each note on a musical staff each time you play one of the keys.

One of the earlier models of the Casio showed you the chord you were playing. Also, there are free chord finders on the Internet.
