Musical Instruments!?
I was wondering how much a pipe organ would cost?? Does anyone have one, or even have any idea how much one is? That is the next instrument that I am teaching myself how to play!! Thanks!
Musical Instruments!?ballet theatercalliwillisink has it right. Unless you find one used, you just dont go out and buy a pipe organ. It has to be designed into the space it occupies. Even a use one will require extensive remodeling. Many units use attic and basement space as resonating chambers. Do some online research. This may lead you to some used instruments available, and, at least, tell you the names of manufacturers to contact to get pricing information.
Also, think of the neighbors! Oh! you have bagpipes? Then you don't care what the neighbors think.

It would be better to go make friends with the priest at a local cathedral. Don't buy your own, it would involve remodeling your house.|||Pipe organs are cheaper if you buy the church around it too - some churches only cost sixpence, but you'll be responsible for upkeep after that - and if you don't care, villagers may burn you at the stake for sacrilege and all. Realistically, as soon as someone is wanting to buy you a Porsche, ask to get a pipe organ instead. Until then, you're limited to keyboards and electrical organs. Which means getting a reputation as a whizz/nerd or as a relgious nerd. Your best alternative is a harpsichord. Combined with a bit of piano/electrical organ training it would provide excellent practise for actual organs, and has a very nice mediaeval sound to match. At about 2000 dollars, you could score one that doubles as a beautiful ornament - electrical sucky ones are cheaper. All that said, there are organs you could build or have built slightly cheaper - check the link below for a 'portable' organ (it looks uncool, but you could make it hip?) and the second link will lead you to one Raphi Giangiulio, who built himself a massive organ. He says on his webpage he loves all the woodwork etc - maybe if you ask nicely..
You're teaching yourselves the bagpipes too though? I heard it takes some 7 years before a student can crank out a little tune, and 7 more before you can strut your stuff at the the Edinburgh Royal Mile without getting sacked by annoyed tourists. So I'm very curious as to how you're learning it - lemme ken if ye will?|||Wow. An acutal Pipe Organ will cost you thousands of dollars. I would get a synthesiser (keyboard) that can make a Pipe Organ sound. It will cost you anywhere from $200 to $1000
