Need help with musical term?
im playing a solo
meditation from thais on viola.
and for some reason i dont know my musical terms
what are these:
dolce, ammando, poco piu appassionato, and
piu (then forte sign)
Need help with musical term?theatre ticketsThese are all dynamic marks. It's quite easy to catch once you get the basics right. For instance:
poco = more
piu = a little
appasionato = with passion, with feeling (pasionato sounds like passion, so there)
dolce = sweetly
so basically poco piu appasionato means a little more passion. As for 'piu f' it means a little louder, or whatever the second dynamic marking entails. It can also be 'piu p' meaning piu piano (a little quieter).
Dynamic markings are rather easy to follow once you get them right. But I can't seem to find anything on ammando. The closest I can get is animando, meaning lively, or more directly, animated.
EDIT: Wil G says it's actually amando = lovingly. Thanks!

Here we go:
dolce = sweet(ly)
amando (NOT 'ammando') = lovingly
