15 year old son playing 18+, 21+ shows with his band. What do I do?

My son is 15 and part of this performance shock music group, sort of a cross between gothic rock and 60s pop. All the members except Theo are in their 20s. They often play 18+ shows, which I’m okay with.

But I found out that last night’s show was 21+ when Theo’d told me it was only 18+. I’m upset that he’s lied to me (although if I had known it was 21+ I wouldn’t have let him perform) and the fact that it’s against the law. Everything went fine (he’s 6’2” and can pass for at least 20) but still, something *could* have gone wrong. I fully support his involvement with this group, it’s his escape from school where he’s bullied quite a bit, but I don’t want him getting into trouble with the law. Or getting myself, his band, or the club into trouble with the law.

I'm sure the group will be playing more and more 21+ gigs, should I not let him play those shows?

Should I stop him from playing period, before things get too out of hand (21 is a powerful age)?

Or pretend I know nothing?

you 're his mother, you make the rules, sit him down & talk to him, bu t do not alienate him from you. HE could just run off & stay w/his "buddies".
