Help! please?
I go to a performing arts school in manhattan because i really want to pursue a career in acting. Most of the auditions that have come my way are broadway and roles for the show CSI.My mom and i are seriously looking into moving to LA because we think that there will be better roles for films and such.
Do you think i should just stick it out in NY or take a chance and go to LA for a while?
I would greatly appreciate your answers.
Thanks<3
Help! please?opera songsYou are correct that there will be far more opportunities for film and television work in L.A. If that's what you want then L.A. is the only place to be. Before you leave NYC make it a goal to book an episode of CSI. You'll be setting and achieving goals your whole career so start right now. Write down the steps you'll take to get CSI on your resume. Get booked! Being a new face from NY with a recent guest starring role proves that you're a working pro.
Continue your training! Always be in a well known and respected class. Get recommendations from agents as to the best/hottest classes. Remember that IMAGE is EVERYTHING, particularly in L.A! You must be percieved as a hot new actor from New York. That will work in your favor for maybe 6 months ("I just got here from New York, oh and here's a DVD of the CSI I did recently.") then you'll always need something to lead with and WORK is always best.
