I have always wanted to be a singer!!!??? Help with....????

I'm almost 13 years old. I always win my talent shows....and I love performing. I idolize JOJO!!!! I have a voice pretty similar to hers....and I can take criticism...but I have one problem.

My dad is a producer, and whenever I make up a song...it just doesn't sound right. In Hollywood, there are people that help you write songs...and do them completely for you...but are there any local ones. Not in the yellow pages....I've checked. I lie in Colorado Springs!!! Please, please, please help me!!!

Wow, you're really lucky to even have gotten that far. You win talent shows, your dad's a producer, you could go pretty far with that. Until you can get on American Idol, I suggest that you sing at art walks, parades, farmers' markets, and once you have a name of sorts, you can promote yourself on myspace. At least, that's what I've heard.

i can sing.was told that when i was little|||Okay, step one. Don't copy other people. Sing in your own voice, don't copy someone else's. Directors/Producers/etc. don't like that.
