When will the English realise............?

that bar one half ina bizarre set of circumstances v an over confident thought they had it won Milan, Steven Gerrard has never ever done anything agaisnt the best in the world? You cannot call a player world class or even worse the best footballer in the world (how can people even claim this of Gerrard, it is ridiculous) for performing agaisnt non world class teams. Gerrard has had his chances in 2 tournaments for England and was below average in both and was clearly out of his depth. I am so fed up hearing how great this guy is for destroying Wigan, Birmingham etc, then falling flat on his gormless face agasint REAL sides.

Seriously, if England has such low standards that they think seeing a player destroy a freshly promoted thta season West Ham in a domestic Cup Final is proof that said playert will turn up the next month at the World Cup and do the same to Germany, Italy, Argentina etc, then you have problems.

I can't be bothered to read all of that.|||wow gerrard hasnt prooved himself against real sides. yea he wasnt englands top goal scorer in 06 world cup he didnt do anything in order to get Liverpool to 2 CL finals in 3 years. and if you just picked up watching soccer last week which it sounds like you did you surely must admit he didnt do anything against chelsea except give torres a goal. or why not just look at the league standings Steven gerrard is the captain of the team which finished 3rd 3rd and are in first right now so yea he is just rubbish and they should just give him to FC dallas.
