Will annually testing for the teachers reflect how our children are taught as home?

There is nothing bias in wanting to test the chidren in our American Public school system, but as soon as the mentioning of testing the teachers it seems to be a slap in the face. Okay, what if we offer some incentives for those that pass the test amongst their peers? I am watching teachers and student teachers in the classroom and college setting, and both are not showing up to the classrooms. Some are cheating on their test, and more than half of them are not passing their math. I have even witnessed a teacher reading the newspaper while the students were performing in class assignments. I am also a proud parent, so I here the issues that teachers are so stressed out behind the classroom doors, when I see that some are complaining just to fit in with the majority, as not to be an outsider with those in a higher status. Teachers should be tested because they boast how much they know when in fact most are not continuing their education pass the classrooms, and if they do, it is .

Let's see, I've been out of the classroom for about 4 weeks this summer and I have already taken over 20 hours of professional development hours and am registered for about 20 more before I have to go back in early August. Besides doing all of this on my own time, being one of the most underpaid professionals in the nation, using my own funds to buy supplies for my classroom and for children whose parents would rather spend money on vacations and cigarettes (what's a vacation?), you want me to take a test to prove that I truly earned the Bachelor's and Master's degrees magna cumlaude?
