Thought about this for my Halloween costume...?

I was going to dress up as Sadako Yamamura for this year's Halloween, but thought that too many people might not be familiar with the (Japanese, not the American remake) Ringu films. Should I just go with the costume anyway?

Also, what's the best way to achieve her white dress thing- make the thing myself or purchase a white nightgown? Would the dress and a black wig be enough, or should I go the extra effort and make myself look more ghost-like with makeup?

My other alternative costume was the Phantom of the Opera, but I really don't want to do that...
