What's with my pregnant dog?

She's a boxer, and this is her first and last litter. This is her 60th day, she's secreting milk, she can't get comfortable, she's panting, but not whining. I took her temperature earlier, and it was 98 degrees. However, and here's the weird part, she's calmed down now, she's fast asleep, no panting, and she hasn't chosen a spot to have the pups. We've given her several choices, such as a whelping box, a playhouse that we brought in from outside, etc, but she won't go near any of the places we've gotten her used to. I thought for sure that she was hitting her first stage of labor, but she hasn't even choosen a place to whelp yet. I thought maybe it was because this is her first litter, and she doesn't know what to do, but I've always heard its instinct. What's going on? I took her temperature again a little while ago, and it's back up to normal again. Has this happened before? Should I be worried?

First let me start by saying dont let people like "Ulcrm" bother you.. some people have nothing better to do .. and Every breeder I have ever met is a back yard breeder. I do not know af anyone bringing their dogs in side to let them breed!!! They are MANY families very blessed with wonderful pet boxers. and if people didnt breed them they would not be here!! I am a boxer breeder for 7 years now. so I will try to help with your question.. First.. has she wanted to eat today? Have you been taking her temp. for a few days to know what her normal temp is AM and PM? A lot of times the temp. is different in the AM and PM most of my girls drop down to about 96 to 97 before they whelp.. many times they will not settle where they are wanting to whelp in till right before giving birth. Also they will not eat for about 12 hours or so before whelping. low temp of course is another sign.. nesting , and panting heavily! once all of these signs have come along plan on puppies! also most girls will whelp 61 to 63 days after first breeding.. so you most likely have another day or so.
