Where can I get a copy of Tru?





PBS American Playhouse aired this YEARS ago (a taping of one man play starting Robert Morse) and I can't find anyplace to buy a copy. Anyone have any thoughts?

Sadly, I don't think you can. It was (as you correctly remember) broadcast on PBS in 1992 on their "American Playhouse" series. But I don't think PBS ever released it for purchase, probably for contractual reasons. Perhaps with the passing of the writer, Jay Presson Allen, over the weekend (great writer--she also wrote the film versions of "Cabaret" and "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie"), not to mention the interest in Truman Capote with the film "Capote", somebody will be inspired to dig it out of the vaults. Hope so--saw it on Broadway with Morse, and he was brilliant.
