An intelligent response please...?
Why is it that the music industry as chosen to endorse more simplified forms of music rather than back up true artists that work at and hone their craft? In the last fifteen years I have watched as real musicians have essentially been stripped of their power and had it handed to rappers and pop stars.
It seems like the only "mainstream" bands that still employ complicated music are Tool and Dream Theater. I know there are others, but these are just two examples. Instead of complex compositions and thought provoking lyrics we're handed fluff on a plate and people who can't sing so they talk instead.
I know a million people will repsond and say I'm an ******, but can we just have spare the point grabbing and generate an intelligent discussion about this?
An intelligent response please...?dream theaterI can't think anyone would respond to say you're an ******. Most people feel exactly like you, they just do nothing about it, and support the so called "fluff" that the RIAA is putting out.
Record companies have gotten too big, so it's all about the bottom line. They actually send "buyers" out to buy up all the copies of an album the week they're released so that the album is number 1 on the charts. Then, the 13 year olds from TRL will go buy that album because it's popular, and everyone knows if you don't listen to what everyone else is listening to you're a loser.
