Anybody know what happened to the movie called Penelope?





I know it was supposed to be released in US theaters in August of 2007, but I haven't seen one preview for it! What went wrong? (STARRING: JAMES MCAVOY, CHRISTINE RICCI)

I think that the reason the release date was changed was because the distribution company was changed so they had to retool ad campaigns and stuff like that. FC acquired domestic theatrical rights last year at Toronto. It set release dates in April and then again in August before pulling the plug as part of its move to focus on its core business of smaller-budget indies. So Summit Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to Penelope
