How do you meet the stars of a musical at the Stage door?

I'm going to see 25th annual putnam county spelling bee this friday and i want to wait at stage door to meet the cast. is that possible at the wadsworth theater? and is it b4 or after the show? how long do u have to wait?

Well, If you are seeing Spelling Bee on tour, I wouldn't know where the stage door is for your particular city, but, if you are seeing it in New York, the Stage Door for The Circle in The Square Theater is most likely in the vicinity of the theater. for most of the theaters (in New York) that I have ever SD'd at, the stage door was on the same block as the theater, and was approx. 15 to 20 feet from the house entrance. In New York, you can always tell where the SD is, because barricades are put up to separate the actors from the public.

In some theaters in cities that tours frequent, there may be barricades, but my guess would be not. Sometimes the Stage Door can be found by turning (on the same square block) away from the theater, and onto a different face of the block. Once you do that, it may be nessicary to walk a bit until you encounter the Door. Since all theaters are different, I would recommend asking the ushers at the theater, or someone that runs a theater related gift shop nearby.

Once you find the SD, after the show, the actors may take any where from 5 minutes to 20, to even longer to change clothes. Sometimes, actors will dodge fans, and try to leave early, and sometimes, after a matinee performance, they wont even leave the theater. It's a crap shoot. But, most likely if you show up to the Stage Door in a timely manner, you will end up meeting actors from the show you see.
